“I am never satisfied unless it exceeds the bar I have placed upon myself.”

– Dan Chassé

Dan Chasse at sound boardDan Chassé Inc. is the culmination of Dan Chassé’s lifelong preoccupation with music and sound. His passion was kindled during the British Invasion of the sixties, of which he has fond memories jamming on the guitar with friends to 45 rpm vinyl records. He recalls his frustration with being unable to hear the Beatles through the din of screaming girls on the Ed Sullivan show – a symptom of the poor sound technology of the day. Since then, Dan has pursued every opportunity to hone is craft, learning from some of the best including Bob Ezrin (producer for Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart and Styxx).

Dan gained early experience and skills in production with his own bands and his own recording set-up. Soon after, his involvement in A and B clubs afforded the opportunity to further enhance his development while he continued to invest into the acquisition of equipment. This set the stage for the launch of his own company which provided services to sporting events like drag racing, motocross racing, boxing, wrestling and skiing. Those early days were his launchpad to working in large festival markets where he was exposed to popular recording acts like Bob Dylan, ZZ Top, and many others.

As Dan grew with the challenges set before him, he invested further into technical development and higher quality tools to achieve professional results until he was ready to open Avinu Music Inc. in Sudbury in 1991. The business flourished while Dan served in several roles in the community, volunteering his time and expertise to schools, students, charitable and non-profit organizations, health and safety initiatives, and community projects. Chief among those roles was the distinction of being named the Technical Director of the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre.

After more than 25 years experience in Sudbury – ranging from concert productions for popular rock bands, to food and cultural festivals, to charitable events and auctions – Dan has recently expanded his influence to Southern Ontario. DC Inc. now operates from two locations in Sudbury and Milton, Ontario.
